Fourth session of the lecture series in Philosophy Month by Prof. LI Xia

Dr. LI Xia, professor from School of History and Culture of Science, has given us a speech on Cognitive mechanism of dream: a psychological perspective in E301, Library, SJTU, Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 4, 2015. Dr. DENG Gang has served as moderator and commentator. This is the fourth session of the lecture series in Philosophy Month.

The lecture began with a short presentation of the American movie Inception. Prof. LI has introduced, at first, the content and the operating mechanism. In his opinion, consciousness, preconsciousness and subconsciousness corresponded respectively with super-ego, ego and Id. Dream played an important role in the release of subconsciousness. Then he has introduced the psychological content of dream to explain the cognitive mechanism, which attracted everyone.
